REVIEW (NiPe)
rate: (5/5) = must have this one on your desk
like: respects the cover promise, worths the price. Explains with simple and clear words the constituent concepts of Java5.
dislike: nothing but it's too big, it's too little
funny: inside the book at page "related titles" it's advertised the 4th edition of the JavaInANutshell
omitted: too few, if any, example of use for tools inside JDK.
errors: -
comment: the book it's initialy intimidating for the dimensions, and sure it isn't a light book.
At first you would thik "it's too big", but when you are really interested about a specific topic and would read inside probably you would think
"this book it's too little". Seriously, cover all the aspects of Java 5 would require
many books of this size not just one. So if we have to reach a limit, this book it has an optimal
trade off, details vs overview. Don't forget, about half of the book it's an API reference you haven't to read all,
but it'really more interesting than reading the officials JavaDocs. I read this book in it's first edition
it was already a classic. Now it remains a classic, a classic renewed.
summary: a classic renewed
